C: This is not about 'Politics', even thou most will attempt to attach it to one political view or the other. This is about Politicians who are NOT doing their job in solving the mental illness in America.
C: In all of the articles I read, all of them, yes ALL, attempt to relate this incident to Donal Trump. But, strange as it may be, he was a registered Democrat!!!
C: All the nonsensical chatter doesn't speak to the real problem, mental illness. At one time the US had facilities and treatment for mental illness. This is all part of healthcare. Currently our country is several steps behind the rest of the world in providing much needed services for her citizens. Taxpayer money should be used to enrich the lives of citizens. As of 2024, mental illness in USA is being categorized as the new normal. USA does not want to address it, fix it nor state the obvious that mental illness is too large of an issue to conquer. Take for instance the Homeless Crisis. Are not the homeless mostly a result of mental illness?
C: The USA population has a large portion of crazy people nowadays. I think we are witnessing the fall of the U.S. in real time. The U.S. government isn't really concerned about dealing with this issue, it is just letting it play out and watch the rest of USA citizens marginalize the mentally ill.
C: Fact: TDS is real. Folks, if you have TDS, please don't do this (seek help). You have just been propagandized. He was 100% Democrat. Worked for campaign of Tom Suozzi the Democrat Congressman. TDS easily grips individuals who are have mental issues. The media is responsible for a good portion of this excess propagation of hatred in politics and thusly easily absorbed by individuals with mental conditions.
Standing in the park minding his own business, the man, Max Azzarello, 37, of St. Augustine, Fla., threw pamphlets into the air before dousing himself with an accelerant and setting his body ablaze. The police hurried to extinguish the flames, and he was taken to a hospital burn unit, gravely injured. He died on Friday night.
Police said that his driver’s licence showed he was born in 1987 and was a native of St Augustine, Florida. A registered Democrat, he attended the University of North Carolina from 2005 to 2009, according to public records and his LinkedIn page. He then obtained his master’s degree in city and regional planning in 2012 from Rutgers.
Those close to Azzarello described him as kind, creative, and well-informed — albeit concerned — about the world. He was somewhat a loner also.
Steven Waldman, Azzarello’s friend from high school, described him to the New York Times as one of the most intelligent people he knew.
While at Rutgers, Katie Brennan, a former classmate, recalled him dotting hallways with encouraging Post-it notes for his classmates and singing karaoke versions of Frank Sinatra and Disney songs.
In 2013, Azzarello worked as operations director for the campaign of Tom Suozzi, his LinkedIn profile reveals. The now Democrat Congressman was at the time running for Nassau County Executive.
As reported by some, he had "gone a littel haywire" as of late, also pointing to concerning social media posts.
In June of 2023, he reportedly tagged Ms Brennan and others in what she called a “manifesto” that he had penned. Alarmed by his writing, she called him immediately and eventually alerted one of his family members.
August, the Times wrote, he posted on Facebook about visiting a mental health facility: “Three days in the psych ward, and all I got were my new favorite socks.”
In the following days, he displayed a series of unstable episodes.
He had dinner at St Augustine’s Casa Monica Hotel, where he apparently found a years-old autograph left on the wall by former president Bill Clinton; Azzarello threw a glass of wine at it, according to police.
Although he admitted to police what had happened, and they apparently dismissed it as a one-off incident, days later, he returned the hotel — clothed in only underwear — and stood outside, yelling into a bullhorn, the outlet wrote.
A few days later, he vandalized the outside of a United Way office and then entered a stranger’s truck and rifling its contents.
Azzarello had a long history of posting conspiracy theories and railing against the rich and powerful, according to those who had begun to comb through his social media profiles.
Seconds before setting himself on fire, he tossed a stack of colourful pamphlets into the air.
A closer look at the path the man had traveled to this moment of self-destruction revealed a recent spiral into volatility, one marked by a worldview that had become increasingly confusing and disjointed — and appeared to be attached only to the Democratic political party. His social media postings and arrest records suggest the immolation stemmed instead from a place of conspiracy theories and paranoia.
Another even in his live that clearly deeply affected him, was the loss of his mother.
In March 2023, he listed his profession on LinkedIn as “Research Investigator,” self-employed. In June of that year, he tagged Ms. Brennan and several others to make sure they had seen something he had written. She described it as a “manifesto” and called him immediately and tried to intervene. Eventually she wrote to one of his family members to make sure that they were aware that he was in crisis, she said.
